Nigel Chamberlain & Partners started as Thomas Pink & Son in Garfield Road and moved to Rareridge Lane where Thomas Pink lived. After Godfrey Pink took over, they moved to premises in Bank Street where they remained for many years. Godfrey was well known locally and together with Derek Chamberlain served the community until their retirement in 1990.
It was at this time that Richard & Iain Steel, whose family have been Funeral Directors in Winchester since 1860, assisted Nigel & Jani Chamberlain to continue the family association with the business for a further 24 years until Nigel’s retirement in 2014.
In 2005 it was decided to relocate again to larger premises at The Gate House, Victoria Road, Bishops Waltham - having undergone a substantial refurbishment to create two private arranging rooms, Chapel of Rest, offices and garaging for the specialist vehicles together with private parking for families. The Gate House was further updated and completely refitted in 2016.
